Keyboard Shortcuts

Keyboard shortcuts help you work faster with less physical strain. They can also come in handy if your mouse stops working. Mac users will generally substitute the Command (Open Apple) key for CTRL. Most programs support the following keyboard commands.

Ctrl+S

Ctrl+S saves a file.

Ctrl+F

Ctrl+F opens the Find field, to search the text currently displayed in any program that supports this shortcut.

Ctrl+P

Ctrl+P opens the print preview utility of most programs.

Ctrl+C or Ctrl+Insert

Ctrl+C and Ctrl+Insert copy highlighted text or selections.

Ctrl+X

Cut an item instead of copying it.

Ctrl+V or Shift+Insert

Ctrl+V and Shift+Insert paste the cut or copied selection that’s stored in the clipboard.

Ctrl+Z

Ctrl+Z will undo any change.

Ctrl+Y

Ctrl+Y will redo an undo.

Alt+Tab

Alt+Tab switches between open programs. Hold Alt and then press the tab key to cycle through each open program.

Ctrl+Tab

Ctrl+Tab to switch between tabs in a program. The best example is if you would like to switch tabs in your Internet Browser.

Ctrl+Home or Ctrl+End

Ctrl+Home will move the cursor to the beginning of the document and Ctrl+End will move the cursor to the end of a document.
